Ken is one of the most popular guitarists in Japan. He is a top personnel of the Japanese music band during the last few years. Together Hyde (vocals), Tetsu (bass), and Yukihiro (drum) music popularized J-Rock (Japanese Rock) is more widespread. Ken joined the Laruku in 1992 to replace the resigned Hiro. And then Ken were undergoing courses in the department of architecture at Nagoya. Prior to joining Laruku, Ken had a chance during high school had a band called Bystonewell. After sitting in college, he was invited by a friend as a child, Tetsu to join his band. In 1992 formed L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel. They released a debut album called Dune. This album is not isimewa. However, the game character Ken embryos started to show. The best song of this album called Voices.

At this time Laruku name not be compared with the Japanese rock band top like X-Japan. It was not until the year 1994, when the album which includes Tierra Blurry Eyes hits single released, a more Laruku skyrocketed. Here, Ken shows a simple guitar, but contains enough.

The next album is released, among others, Heavenly, True, Ark., Real, Ray, Smile, etc.. He and Laruku also had 2 fruit release idealistic project to call themselves Dark ~ en ~ Ciel (which is a dark version of L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel) and Punk ~ en ~ Ciel which plays punk versions of songs by Laruku. But the project Punk ~ en ~ Ciel is a drummer Ken played guitar while the position is filled by the Vocalis Hyde.

In terms of technical, there's nothing really too special from Ken. He did not show such techniques are demonstrated virtuoso guitarists. But he was able to put himself in every song and can measure the proportion of ritem and simple melodies but enjoyable. Therein lies the power of Ken. In hits like Blurry Eyes, Flower, and the High Driver you will find a simple guitar playing and beautiful to hear.

In addition to the player, Ken was also able to make a good song. Songs include creation Fourth Avenue Cafe, As If in a Dream, Vivid Colors, Caress of Venus, and others. The interesting thing was one titled songs Winterfall, the invention at the age of 13 years.

FACTS ABOUT THE Tetsu
Tetsu is a bassist of L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel and served as chairman of the band. It was he who suggested the name of L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel, when inspired by a French film of the same title. He also created a few songs the lyrics even Laruku.
Tetsu is the oldest child in his family, he has a sister 2 people. In his family he was often called tetchan, until finally the people in around do the same.
Like Hyde, Tetsu had joined a sports club at his school, he joined the club difference Baseball. But also like Hyde, not how long he came out, why he was lazy with the basic training that must be lived, he just wants to play baseball rather than practice.
Tetsu he had been eating like a little music. Since the class was listening to junior Tetsu work of foreign musicians. He and Ken (Laruku guitarist) have been friends since they were little, because their neighboring homes. They were with a man named Ko-chan who is older than they both like music. Often each of Ken and Tetsu come home from school, they visited the house of Ko-chan to play music. Ko-chan and Ken hold the guitar, while Tetsu playing bass. After a while, Ko-chan graduated from high school and work, eventually they were busy with their activities.
At the time he was in high school, he tried to form a band with friends at school. After all this time they disperse. Tetsu then returned with Ken formed a band called Bystonwell.
After graduating high school, Bystonwell dissolved, he worked part time at a music store, while Ken continue their education to the University of Nagoya.
Tetsu then tried to form a band. At first he wanted to be a singer in a band group. But after seeing the appearance Hyde, he was against it.
Tetsu especially loved Shinseiki Evangelion anime and Gundam. Asuka Langley, one of the characters in the anime is his favorite type of woman. Hyde Tetsu even suggested anime to watch it.
Tetsu is a shopaholic. Various electronic goods until he branded clothing brush. Therefore abundant in his home electronic items, such as HiFi, CD player, and much more. And in her closet there is no clothing that is not branded (bangget stylish!).
Tetsu is the only member of L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel who did not smoke. Although other members smoked like demons around him, still he did not smoke (example for us-we!).

BIOGRAPHY
Life as an only child who grew up in the suburbs of Osaka, HYDE has a childhood normal enough, despite the fact that his mother used to dress like a woman. Influential or not it is on style and musical ability HYDE, one thing is certain: HYDE has been over the line between sensitive, feminine comfort, and style punk rocker punk with a solo career, show his own name. HYDE out of the typical Japanese rockers, surprised everyone with a variation in the musical and visual style.

HYDE career in world music band that originated from long-lived of Jerusalem's Rod as a guitarist under the name Hide (who is his real name). Until finally he was found by Tetsu who brought his career to soar. Although before he planned to remain a guitarist, but Tetsu Hide insisted that joining the band as a vocalist. Together they formed L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel in 1991. Hide soon changed his name to Hyde, took the idea from the classic novel Dr. Jekyll and Mr.. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, and then change the capital letter H to lower case.

As Laruku started growing fame, began to reflect on themselves hyde for solo careers. Especially in 1997 when drummer Laruku, Sakura, left the band due to criminal conviction. The project does not produce any results until Laruku decided to hiatus in 2001. Hyde also decided to change his name written in capital letters and dyed her hair blond. HYDE then take steps away from its roots as a vocalist Laruku, making all compositions and lyrics for songs new. In October 2001 he released his own label under Evergreen, Haunted Records as a branch of Ki / Oon. HYDE surprising fans and critics with a listless guitar melodies and the lyrics are sensitive. With the release of Angels and Shallow Sleep Tale, he continued his trend of sweet melodies of acoustic guitars, as well as additional track on the singles with the same song but in English. In April 2002, HYDE once again surprised the fans by starring in the movie Moon Child with fellow vocalist, Gackt, though previously he has admitted that he was hesitant to try acting. The film is successful in Japanese theaters, as well as musical duet between the HYDE and Gackt titled Orenji no Taiyou (オレンジの太陽), which released the album Gackt's Crescent. These satisfy the public until the release of four singles HYDE, HELLO. HYDE once again changed his style, changing from simple and melodic to heavy electric guitar from hard rock. With color darker hair and punk-rock suit, HYDE returned to the world of music and ready for banging. After a little softening in style with HORIZON in November 2003, HYDE released two solo albums, 666 (roku roku roku read as a Japanese pronunciation of the rock rock rock). The album echoes a stronger presence than the first, showing one side HYDE as bad boy of rock.

Before the release of second album, HYDE collect back with all members of Laruku in June and July 2003 for concerts with seven days in Shibuya, Tokyo. With a single release titled Laruku READY STEADY GO, HYDE slow solo activity. He bit back to acting with the release of the movie Last Quarter in October 2004, the release re-Roentgen where all in English, and the release of his collection titled PV Roentgen Stories. However, most of it remains as a vocalist of Laruku, until October 2005 with the release of her new single COUNTDOWN, may lurk another hiatus from Laruku.

From the beginning of his career, personal life more or less HYDE has become a public mystery. The original name and the date of his birthday was never notified. He is known only occasionally going out with pop star until his marriage to actress Megumi Oishi in December 2000. She gave birth to a child in November 2003, walapupun name and sex was never notified to the public.

Although the musical and visual styles change and personal lives shrouded, HYDE remains a favorite among fans of Japanese rock community with songs that have been used in television advertisements and films. history of l'arc en ciel

1991 Febuary, Osaka, Tetsu formed L’Arc~en~Ciel with hyde on vocal, hiro on guitar,tetsu on bass, and pero on drums. The name L’Arc~en~Ciel was chosen by leader Tetsu, and this name means “an ark in the sky ” in french, which literally means rainbow. This was a name of a french movie that tetsu watched, and he thought that the name sounds nice ( and yeah no other paticular reason ) he chose it for their band name. Of course he wouldn’t have known how much this name actaully can reflect their band right now, and probably become one of the most significant words in the late 90s of Japanese rock history… In that year’s May 30th, they had their first LIVE in Nanba Rockets, they became very popular inside the indies circle and from that point on they’ve started a lot of activities around Osaka. They had many mor elives in Nanba Rockets.. and also other live houses for that time.

In 1992, guitarist Hiro left the band and tetsu called his childhood friend Ken right away, since they desperately needed a guitarist for a LIVE that’s upcoming. At that time Ken’s still in University in Nagoya studying architecture, and under Tetsu’s pushing and persuading..Ken decided in 3 days that he’ll stop his studies and return to Osaka to join L’Arc~en~Ciel. Of course Ken’s parents are extremely pissed about this… (haha thanks to tetchan!) and i hear

After that they continued their activity, and in October 1st they recorded “Voice” for the Omnibus CD “Gimmick” And 1 month later, Nov 25th, they released their 1st single ” Flood of Tears” (c/w Yasouka) and it was only a limit of 1000. (it’s like impossible to find that single now..since there were only 1000 copies! and it’s seen in Japan for 60,000 yen! ( original price 971 yen!!!!))

However, in Dec 30th, drummer Pero left the band after a LIVE performance at Osaka Music Hall. Tetsu then called up Sakura and asked him to be their drummer. However, they didn’t even know Sakura, and Sakura was in Tokyo. Tetsu had just seen him in some lives before and thought of calling him up. Sakura doesn’t even know L’Arc~en~Ciel either..but he still travelled from Tokyo to Osaka to see who they are. (and there goes the unmei no deai between hyde and sakura i guess? ^^;)

In 1993 Jan 16th, Sakura joined Laruku. That year April, they released their 1st album “DUNE”. However some songs were written by Hiro (i’m in pain and no truth), and they couldn’t use it in their album so they got in quite a lot of trouble. (I think Claustrophobia was written by hiro? but then they changed it to Shutting From the Sky in DUNE) During the recording of DUNE laruku members had to live in the weekly mansions in Tokyo ^^; ( except Sakura coz he was originally from Tokyo anyways) And the album ” DUNE ” got #1 in Oricon Indies Chart in May ^_^ Then following they had the tour ‘ Close to DUNE”, ” Feel of DUNE” from June to the endof that year. It had been a lot of trouble for them since they live in Osaka, they always have to drive back and forth from Tokyo to Osaka in ther “laruku car”. Tetsu was the driver because hyde drives so extremely slow (like an old man) that everyone couldn’t stand him. (Although he claim that he drives so slow because it’s not his car) and Sakura doesn’t know the road very well and he always end up going in big circles (and wasting gas) and Ken’s such a reckless driver that although Tetsu always falls asleep, he can’t even sleep when Ken’s driving coz he’d have to pay attention for him, and ending up not sleeping which made no difference..so he decided to drive.

In Sept 93, all members of Laruku slowly moved to Tokyo to persue their career. But haido didn’t really want to move to Tokyo..because he that would mean that he would not be able to meet his friends and parents very often,and Tokyo just seemed like a metropolis with not very friendly people..litte trees..dirty streets to him.In 1994 Feb, there was a TV Special ” L’Arc~en~Ciel Valentine TV Special” called ” Nostalgic no Yokan” (haha i have that video but it’s a total blur -_-” but it was kinda funny how they did it for valentines…why Laruku right? no idea..) and in Sept, hyde stared in an Axia tape CM. Their success continued till 1997 with release of videos, singles, and tours and with their 1st million seller album “True”.

Unfortunately, in 1997, Sakura was arrested for some drug related problem, and he officially left L’Arc~en~Ciel on 1997 Nov 4th. The release of the single “the Fourth Avenue Cafe” was also cancelled. Laruku then stopped their activities for a few months, and they came back in their Reincarnation 97 Live in Tokyo Dome with new drummer Yukihiro (ex DIE IN CRIES), breaking the ticket sales record of Tokyo Dome with a sold out in 4 min. They then released the album ” Heart” and continued to release big hit singles like Winterfall, Dive to Blue, and they made it to the Kohaku of 1998 for their first time with their million seller single HONEY. In July 1st 99 they released 2 albums at once “Ark” and “Ray” and sold a 5 hundred million. They then had their national Grand Cross Tour 99 with over 650,000 fans. They then continue to spread their music to other parts of the world, and had a promotion trip to Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand in Sept 99. They crossed the year 2000 with 55,000 fans in Tokyo Big Sight in Reset Live and also making their 2nd apperance in Kohaku, also releasing their 1st single in the new millenium NEO UNIVERSE/finale on Jan 19th 00. In the summer of 00, they released their album REAL, which again proved their talents as muscians. After REAL and REALIVE, they released their first best album Best Clicked Singles 13 with 13 songs all voted by fans across asia online. Their promotion even went over asia into the US and started a whole L’Arc America campaign. On top of that, their new single “spirit dreams inside” was used as an ending theme song for the movie Final Fantasy (spirits within) all across the world. Since then, each member began to indulge in their own solo work, and had not been releasing anything as a band for more than a year. But … after so many years, of ups and downs, L’Arc~en~Ciel is now one of the top bands in the Jrock scene, and their legend is to be continued with their colors shining above us…always. People always ask me, are they gonna disband? Well, even if they do, I think they will always shine above me. What I like them for is their music and everything that has made up L’Arc~en~Ciel, and these things will not go away even if they disband. I can still always listen to their music and remember them, therefore, I’m not even concerned of their disband at all, VIVA LARUKU!
